Racism
Paper planes

“You are in the U.S., so speak English.” said an ignorant american. As foreigners leave their potentially war torn countries to move to America for new opportunities they bring their language and culture with them. Throughout america's history different immigrants has faced some way, shape or form of discrimination. For example, they have faced discrimmination because of language, religion, and ethnicity. This often led to several stereotypes. Comical yet racist. That’s why I claim that “being an immigrant is a hard life” because of these situations. This notion was then portrayed in M.I.A’s (a British rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, visual artist, and activist, born in 1975) 2005 song titled ‘Paper Planes’ In her album ‘this century’. Where M.I.A sarcastically presents' the world view of a "stereotypical" immigrant. Try and see if you can find all parts in the video that represents this.
