The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy is an American superhero series based on the comic book series of the same name written by Gerard Way. Created for Netflix by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater, it’s about a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father's death and the threat of an imminent apocalypse.

One day in 1989, 43 children were inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who had no signs of pregnancy a day before giving birth. Seven of these kids were adopted by a billionaire industrialist called Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who founded “The Umbrella Academy” and prepares those 7 children to save the world as teenagers. Some time later the family breaks and everyone takes their own path. Years later in the present time six of the seven children reunite after hearing the news of Hargreeves passing. They team up to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s death while also disagreeing with each other and having their personalities and abilities pull them apart, and not to forget a global apocalypse as another upcoming threat.

These 7 children were trained to save the world with their given birth powers being, Allison (the Rumor) with the ability of persuading people to do what she wants with the sentence starter “I heard a rumor..”, Vanya, who manipulates sound in any form, Klaus, who can speak to the dead, Diego, who manipulates trajectory, Number Five, manipulating space and time, Ben, He can release and control tentacles, and Luther, who has super strength.
