What do the life paths of Booker T. Washington and WEB DuBois represent?
Life After High School
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois

Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois were born 10 years apart in the middle of the 19th century, in the time of the Civil War. Washington was born into slavery in the South, and DuBois was from the North and had access to formal education, which means they had very different experiences growing up.

Their lives illustrate two different path that many people can choose: focusing on education and academics like DuBois, or learning skills and a trade like Washington.

Both paths can lead to successful careers and positions of leadership, as you can see from reading the biographical details in this document from Wake County Public Schools.
