Then and Now
One Year Later

March 11th 2020, The day COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. On this day everything changed. The whole world SHUT DOWN. From waking up and going to school, to waking up and doing school at home. Adults having to work from home. People losing jobs day by day, struggling to put food on the table. COVID-19 cases rising daily. Human death is rising rapidly. People losing loved ones. A heart broken, A home broken, A community broken, A city broken, A state broken, A country broken, The whole World broken.
Looking back a year later, it's so hard to see how far we come. From a country being shut down and completely divided. To a country Slowly opening up and slowly coming together. In person classes happening again. And those that lost a job regaining a new one again. Human deaths are decreasing everyday. Love ones being able to be around family. Celebrations happening again. Just being lucky enough to be in the position we are in to say, WOW we made it.
Even though there are still a lot of issues going on in America that affect millions. We can now say, we have one major issue that is finally under control. I know there's lots and lot's of grieving still happening. To those that lost a loved one, I understand the pain, the confusion, the thoughts, and the memories. But always know there is someone, you know or might not know who is willing to listen and to be the shoulder you cry on.
Our Mental Health is the number one thing that needs to be our focus especially after dealing with a difficult year. Here are some quotes to remind you. You are NOT alone.

“The advice I’d give to somebody that’s silently struggling is, you don’t have to live that way. You don’t have to struggle in silence. You can be un-silent. You can live well with a mental health condition, as long as you open up to somebody about it, because it’s really important you share your experience with people so that you can get the help that you need.” — Demi Lovato

“Life doesn’t make any sense without interdependence. We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all.” — Erik Erikson

“You are the one thing in this world, above all other things, that you must never give up on. When I was in middle school, I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression and the help and support I received from my family and a therapist saved my life. Asking for help is the first step. You are more precious to this world than you’ll ever know.” — Lili Reinhart

“I would say what others have said: It gets better. One day, you’ll find your tribe. You just have to trust that people are out there waiting to love you and celebrate you for who you are. In the meantime, the reality is you might have to be your own tribe. You might have to be your own best friend. That’s not something they’re going to teach you in school. So start the work of loving yourself. — Wentworth Miller
