Functions and form of Giza
Functions and form of Giza

The function of the pyramids of Giza was a tomb for the second king of Egypt in 3,700. The Egyptians were one of the first societies to believe in another when they died. According to History.com “To properly care for his spirit, the corpse was mummified, and everything the king would need in the afterlife was buried with him, including gold vessels, food, furniture, and other offerings.”This shows that when the kings died transformed to gods so the workers of the pyramid of Egypt wanted that when they died they would not bury it in the earth but in a pyramid like the kings of Egypt. The pyramids are religious and certainly political symbols.

The Egyptians preferred to make pyramids because they believed the Pharaoh would be closer to heaven when they died and became Gods. According to the history museum of Canada, “All the pyramids in Egypt were built clad in polished white limestone. They reflected the sunlight and sparkled like a jewel” (History Museum of Canada). There are many stories of how the pyramids formed. But one of the stories says that when creating the pyramids of Giza they used causeways to climb the stone blocks on wooden sleds up the side of the pyramids. In conclusion, the workers of the Giza pyramid used a method of work of their hands that was very advanced for this era.

These pyramids show how the ancient Egyptians were religious. According to the History Museum of Canada, “That the gods took the heart of the people and a pen placed it on a scale and if it weighs the same that person was justified and could not live the other life” (the history museum of Canada) The people worked in the pyramid so that King Osiris would give them eternal life. They believed the trip beyond was to be very dangerous: snakes, knives, fire dragons, and reptiles with five heads.
In conclusion, the pyramids of society were very religious and very believing in their gods.
