The Eiffel Tower

The purpose of the Eiffel Tower is to be one of the major attractions of the Universal Exhibition of Paris. For those times, creating a tower of a resistant material was novel. Now it is a symbol of Paris and one of the best structures in the world. According to 15 things of Eiffel tower, it states “ The Eiffel Tower was built to be one of the main attractions of the World's Fair in Paris in 1889. That year, the World's Fair covered the entire Champ de Mars in Paris and its focus was on the cast iron and steel constructions that were the great industrial advance of that time”. In other words, the Eiffel Tower was created to be one of the most modern industrial wonders created in those times with materials that were beginning to be used at that time. In conclusion, the Eiffel Tower is still fulfilling its purpose of being one of the major attractions of Paris.
The Eiffel Tower was made with triangles because the triangle is one of the strongest figures out there. Triangles give the tower more stability and support because as it is tall it will need to be stronger. According to why the Eiffel tower have triangles? the text states “The triangular shape gives the tower strength since it's a strong shape to build upon, without it being structurally weak. ” This shows that the Eiffel Tower was created with triangles to be more resistant since it was created with heavy materials like iron, which at the time was new material. Iron was also being used at this time for to create more resistant bridges, lighthouses, supports for houses, machines, and other things more. The indemnities included so that the structure has more strength and can have better stability. To summarize the Eiffel Tower is one of the wonders of the structures created and that has become a symbol of Paris and is very resistant due to the triangles that were placed on it.
The impact the Eiffel Tower brings is economic as it became the most touristic place and attracted many people to Paris thus earning the city a lot of money. According to the website Wonders of the World, there was a challenge between countries to create the most advanced structure using the new materials like iron, electricity, and steel “Its 1,000-foot (300m) tower is a technological feat that shows the entire world the technological power of France.” This means France was able to win the challenge because they extracted minerals from their colonies in West Africa. Another impact was cultural because the Tower became a symbol for the people of Paris representing the power of Paris. According to Wonders of the World “The impact the Eiffel tower had on society is that it drew millions of people over to Paris. It later became a tourist attraction and brought large amounts of money to France ( making their economy rise ). It later became a symbol for France (People referred the Eiffel tower to La Dame de Fer, meaning the iron lady).” This shows that the tower is a great symbol for the people of Paris after the power of that country. It has also become one of the great wonders of the world and millions of people will visit it and generating thousands of dollars from tourists. Finally, The Eiffel Tower brought several good impacts for Paris by making it stand out from other countries for that structure and becoming a Wonders of the World., and being an important symbol for Paris.
