My grandfather Marcel Adam and my grandmother Ariane (Lacarrère) Adam on their wedding day. They were to leave shortly after to the French Island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean, where my grandfather, an engineer in agronomy, had been hired to manage a sugar factory.
