Indigenous people welcoming Europeans on their island with respect.
Interconnectedness between Natives and Europeans
Connections

In the painting seen above, we can comprehend that the natives or as others say "indigenous people", treated the Europeans with respect and sincerity. The indigenous people are seen bowing down to Christopher Columbus and the Europeans and offering them gifts and goods. This occurred right after Christopher Columbus thought he landed in Asia, Japan yet he landed in the Bahamas.

This painting shows a positive view of Europeans in the Americas as it depicts the indigenous people bowing down to them and giving them gifts so the Europeans are treated very respectfully. Because the Native Americans treated the Europeans with generosity, the Europeans treated the Taino people they met as generous people to each other because the Taino people helped them and treated them as guests so they did the same.
