Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner. Domestic violence affected more women than and the responsible for this problem is men. The consequences are some of the children get effects, people get mental problems. Domestic Violence in the Bronx should be stopped because Domestic Violence negatively affects children, this is a high percent among black women and it is a traumatic experience that is hard to recover from. The Office on Women’s Health from the Department of Health & Human Services reported that the Bronx had the highest percent of domestic violence, more than half of women experienced abuse from 2010-2017, meaning many children were probably affected. The author shows “Many children exposed to violence in the home are also victims of physical abuse. Children who witness domestic violence or are victims of abuse themselves and are at serious risk for long-term physical and mental health problems.” If when children see what their parents are fighting, they will be doing that in the future because that can negatively affect them.It is like they take them power control. The children aged 1-10 have the highest percentage watching domestic violence, they get sick. And these children had many things going on in their lives. Something that can be done is to help these children to be open about themselves by doing therapy every week. This problem affects not just the total of all domestic violence but family more than 40.5% of all NYC. This is important we should care because these children are dead about the abuse ( physical and sexual) need all support from us.
