Future of Work
Syep Summer 26’
My first SYEP experience was everything I hoped it would be and more.
When my school first sent out the opportunity to work over the summer and build career skills, I was ecstatic. I'd missed the age cutoff last year, so being able to apply and get in on my first try felt great.
The whole process went smoothly on my part, from the online meetings to being in person with other teens and learning a variety of skills. I've truly enjoyed it, and I feel comfortable saying I'll definitely try to come back next summer, maybe at a different worksite to expand my learning.
We had many interesting options, but MetaBronx caught my eye, specifically The Glass Files. I did some research and saw how many people create stories for themselves and others to enjoy, and I knew I'd have creative control, which is something I always look for.
I'm glad I got to use my creativity to write my first SYEP experience, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
