CapCut vs. After Effects
In MetaBronx, students can pick between six teams to learn from, and one of them is Media/Broadcasting.
In Media/Broadcasting, you get to learn topics people are familiar with just in a deeper and more in-depth explanation. My manager, Wendy, taught us the basic steps of editing.
Editing gives people a chance to show off their skills for really anything from tv shows, to important events, for work, to movies, etc… However there's one problem, editing takes a process of patience and knowing how to work each program of choice.
Since our manager, Wendy has been editing since 2020, she let us know not only does she edit for MetaBronx, but also for fun. Wendy gives a deep explanation on the differences between CapCut and After Effects.
After Effects requires knowing where all different pieces are at, having to download different apps to get your audio without copyright issues, clips of your choice, and downloading them into the app itself. Even though you can download After Effects for free, and get better quality in edits, there will be slight problems. Editors have to have higher storage to download clips of choice on MacBook.
When downloaded on the phone, sometimes it will glitch, kick you out of the app, and cause problems. Having to organize all clips is another major problem. Depending on your device preference sometimes you will have to organize all your clips on the app images on phone, or on MacBook folders. Even though buying a PC is slightly better, it still gives you slight problems.
CapCut shows a major difference. CapCut is also a free download where you can use it on different platforms/devices. CapCut allows you to choose clips of your choice while allowing photos, audios/sounds and videos to be saved automatically in the app itself.
In addition, CapCut has everything already laid out for you, and all keys that people struggle to find in After Effects are already organized and ready for you. CapCut allows people to create accounts, share their edits on the actual app itself, get money from it, and people can use it as templates (when only posted).
As much as CapCut is slightly more popular, it does have its downsides. In order to use certain things, you do have to pay either standard, or pro for more than $80 a year.
Overall, editors put a lot into their work even when things get difficult, they are able to have the patience and continue. No matter which app you use to edit, it will always have pros and cons and that’s okay.
