The party before the 1985 earthquake.

On the eve of Mexico City’s biggest earthquake, my parents had some coworkers over for a small party. At midnight, a mariachi band showed up, waking me and my brothers up (in the back of the first picture). Little did we all know that a few hours later the city would experience a devastating category 8 earthquake. I love this picture and the happiness and relaxation it depicts, not to mention the amazing 80s mustaches and styles.
