Civil war in Finland 1917-1918

After Finland's independence from Russia on Dec. 6th, 1917, a civil war broke out between the "Reds" (communists) and the "Whites" . The bitter war, which divided families and the nation, was won by the "Whites" led by General Mannerheim, who later became a hero of the whole population when he led the troops against the Soviet Union in WWII.
